Terms of Use
Last updated October 29, 2026
Effective date: October 22, 2026
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Ron Starr, doing business as RepStar ("RepStar", "we") for using the RepStar app and website. By creating an account or using RepStar, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use RepStar.
Who can use RepStar. Trainer accounts are for adults (18+) who use RepStar for their training business. Clients use RepStar at their trainer's invitation. A client under 18 may be added by a trainer only with a parent or guardian's permission, and some features are turned off for them.
Your account
Keep your login details private and tell us right away if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account. Give accurate information, including a client's correct birthday, since some protections depend on it.
Trainers and their clients
If you're a trainer, you're responsible for:
- having each client's permission before adding them and recording their information, photos or body data,
- getting a parent or guardian's permission for any client under 18,
- the programs, advice and coaching you give, and following the laws and professional rules that apply to you,
- the prices you set and collecting payment from your clients. RepStar records sessions, packages and invoices, but isn't a party to your agreements with clients.
If you're a client, your trainer controls the records they keep about you in RepStar. You can disconnect from a trainer you don't recognize at any time.
Not medical advice
RepStar is a tool for trainers and their clients. It does not give medical, nutrition or physical-therapy advice, and it doesn't replace a doctor or other licensed professional. Nutrition estimates, body-composition figures and progress charts are estimates for general fitness use only.
Exercise has risks. Talk to a doctor before starting a new program, especially if you have a health condition, injury or are pregnant. Stop and get help if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. You exercise at your own risk.
AI features can make mistakes. Spot, scan reading, program import and the bio writer use AI. Their results can be wrong or incomplete, so check them before you rely on them or share them with a client. Spot's changes can be undone, and you're responsible for the programs and bookings you keep.
Beta, plans and fees
Beta. RepStar is in an invite-only beta. Beta accounts are free. Features may change, break or be removed, and we may limit how much some features can be used (for example, Spot's monthly request allowance). Please send feedback with the 馃挰 button; we may use it to improve RepStar without owing you anything for it.
Paid plans. When paid plans start, we'll tell beta testers at least 30 days before any charge, and nothing is charged without your agreement. Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew until cancelled. You can cancel any time; access continues to the end of the period you paid for. Except where the law requires, payments aren't refunded. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of a price change.
Using RepStar fairly
Don't use RepStar to:
- break the law or anyone's rights, including privacy and copyright,
- upload content that's harassing, hateful, sexual, or that you don't have permission to share,
- add people without their permission, or pretend to be someone else,
- try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, overload the service, or get around its limits or security,
- copy, resell or build a competing product from RepStar or its exercise library and videos.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Who owns what
Your content stays yours. Programs, notes, photos, videos and data you add belong to you (or your clients). You let us store, process and display it only to run RepStar for you, as the Privacy Policy describes.
RepStar stays ours. The app, its design, the RepStar and Spot names, and our exercise library and licensed videos belong to us or our licensors. You may use them inside RepStar, but not copy or reuse them elsewhere.
Limits of our responsibility
No guarantees. RepStar is provided "as is" and "as available", especially during the beta. As far as the law allows, we don't promise it will be error-free, always available, or right for your purpose. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Limit of liability. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits, lost data or injuries from exercise), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Trainers' responsibility. If you're a trainer, you agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim against us arises from your coaching, your content, or adding a client without permission.
Ending, changes and the law
Ending. You can stop using RepStar and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or end the beta, with reasonable notice where we can. Trainers can ask for a copy of their data before an account closes.
Changes. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email account holders and show a notice in the app before the change takes effect. Using RepStar after that means you accept the new terms.
The law. These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Santa Clara County, California, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
